RARE brown crepe wrap around dress with velvet trim. This is a stunning dress, the ultimate in chic. I've been holding onto it for a few months now - I just wanted the pleasure of owning for awhile before offering to you. I think the photos are self-explanatory but I'll talk you through a couple of things. As you can see it has a slimline fit. The front panel incorporates a 'belt' section which does up at the back with a plastic-like buckle (at first I thought it was ivory but I don't think it is - it looks moulded to me). The buckle is decorated with little flowers and stems. The top of the dress, under the velvet flounce collar, does up with a barrel shaped 'button' which I believe is bakelite (but not 100% positive) and there are a couple of snap fasteners holding the front and bottom of the skirt together, and the cuffs. It's a knock-out dress - but it's not without a few flaws. They don't bother me, but they are worth mentioning. There is a little discoloration of the brown in a few places, mainly at the front of the dress, sort of a hazy darkening. There have also been a few homemade repairs - a couple of small holes have been stitched up. Other than that, I would classify this dress as being in excellent vintage condition. Definitely wearable. Label: Made under Dress Code Authority AZA 188555 (with the added comment 'We Do Our Part'.) Year: c.1920s Size: Approx UK 10-12 - Bust up to 36", Waist 28", Hips up to 36", Length from shoulder to hem 45". Ref: 4010
