I love it when anything Edwardian or Victorian turns up and I particularly love this simply gorgous cotton lawn ruffle blouse. Delicate fabric, row upon row of lace-trimmed pleats. Fantastic ruffle collar. The shoulder opening has tiny pearlised buttons and the side opening has hooks. The original colour when new was probably bright white - a favourite colour for Edwardian ladies' summer outfits - and a gentle wash may bring the white back. For me, I prefer to leave them in the state in which I find them wherever possible - somehow they seem more interesting that way, like touching history. Label: Unsigned. Year: Edwardian (c.1901-1910) Size: Bust up to 34". Waist 26". Length 21" from shoulder to hem. Condition: Excellent - apart from a bad repair to the side opening. The blouse suffered a tear at some point resulting in an uneven closing - but if you first use the snap fastener (probably added during the repair) to line up the waist seam, most of the hooks and eyes align. Ref: 6011
